The Sicily island is a cradle of different travel experiences. Here it's possible to conquest the largest and most active volcanoes of the world the Mount Etna and the Stromboli volcano.
Try to imagine a place where you could
    * Visit typical sea villages of the Aeolian islands
    * Climb to the summit crater of the biggest volcanoes of Europe
    * Do nocturnal observations to see the lava fountains of the Stromboli
    * Visit the only place on heart where find terrain similar to mars

All volcanoes are well reachable, so every hiker has good chances to reach the summit craters of these volcanoes. But be careful that the volcanoes are always active.

The Etna is on the oriental coast of Sicily near the city of Catania. Its landscape is varied, prevalently mountains and hills. The whole of this volcano is a national park. The park is full of walking paths, although it is recommended to make excursions only in groups accompanied by expert mountain guides.

There are two starting points for the  Etna excursions: The north- Linguaglossa and the south- Nicolosi

The Stromboli volcano is one of the 7 Aeolian islands. The main itinerary is the “Sciara del Fuoco”. It is a sort of a vertical pipe where the lava flows down in the sea. The view is impressive and the sulfuric fumes are strong. The volcano is reachable by boat from Milazzo (Messina)
