If you want to enjoy a salcombe family holiday this picturesque town in South Devon has long been a popular destination for salcombe holidays, as well as year round breaks thanks to its' warm climate, stunning location and wonderful character.

The town of salcombe has a comprehensive range of restaurants, a luxury salcombe hotel to enjoy your stay in and easy access to some of the most pretty beaches, walks and watersports hotspots in the country, for a great Devon holiday it has to be salcombe, it has all the great charismatic traits of a seaside resort and is a pleasant laid back place to be.

salcombe Harbour provides a natural haven for nature and humans alike. On your salcombe holiday enjoy the many birds that flock here in their thousands and the attractive estuary which supports a wealth of plant and fish life, some of which is extremely rare. The region's warm (almost Mediterranean) climate enables many species of plant to flourish here, even if they are found nowhere else in the United Kingdom., some of the visitors we get here at salcombe in our estuary have even included basking sharks and dolphins. salcombe also forms one of the UK's most popular ports for yachtsmen.

The town itself is highly popular with all, making a great salcombe family holiday for the whole family salcombe boasts many high-quality shops, restaurants and cafes as well as quick access to beautiful beaches through the ferry links to East Portlemouth and South Sands.

Salcombe's main street (Fore Street) runs parallel to the waters edge, frequently sending alleyways out up the steep hillside to the rest of salcombe, or to small quays dotted along the estuary foreshore. The street is narrow, the buildings seeming almost to fight for space!

Many quality shops, cafes and restaurants can be found selling high quality, if expensive goods. Don't forget to check out the alleyways, featuring small jewellery stores and galleries, to miss this quaint part of the town on your salcombe holiday would be a shame!

A network of ferries operate from Whitestrand or the Ferry Steps at Low Tide, both of which are in the centre of town. These give an easy and rather special access to the beaches around the town of alcombe, namely North and South sands at the harbour mouth and the beaches of East Portlemouth on the opposite bank of the estuary from the town. The ferry rides are a popular part of salcombe and should definitely be sampled when in the town.

Lying on the Western side of the salcombe Estuary Mouth, North and South Sands are two sheltered, fine sandy beaches with excellent views across the estuary. They have good facilities and are within a short walk or ferry ride of salcombe town centre. These beaches both have café and toilet facilities, North Sands also has a beach shop whilst South Sands has watersports hire in the summer and ferry link to salcombe, this is a good fun day out, catching the ferry to the beach and then coming back to relax at your luxury salcombe hotel.

Once you have enjoyed a salcombe holiday you will be sure to visit salcombe again!
