Hong
Kong is the gem city of the East. It is a paradigm for the other
undeveloped cities of the world. You will be amazed to see the
development that is thriving at each corner of the city. Every street
of HK is flourishing with the business activities. I was deeply
impressed at the hard work and the endurance of the Chinese in making
their country a happening place of the world.
I got an opportunity to visit the fantastic land of business dragons as part of our company's promotion programs in
Hong Kong.
As such oriental trips happen very rarely, I did not want to miss the
golden opportunity. Moreover, it was my deepest wish to visit a city
like Hong Kong that has been known for its aggressive business activities.
The Chek Lap Kok airport was the first attraction of the city of
Hong Kong.
Chek Lap Kok is known as the world's fifth busiest airports. With its
capacity to cater the airline services to 140 cities all over the
world, it is doubtless that the international business activity of Hong Kong starts here. The fog made our journey miserable. Flight delays and travel obstacles are part of
Hong Kong's life. We also shared a little of their suffering. Yet, the visit offered me a lot of good experience.
Our team had hired the
Regal Oriental Hotel, Hong Kong, a renowned 4-star hotel. It was very convenient for us, as we had planned all our seminars and discussions at the
Hong Kong
International Trade & Exhibition
Center. The hotel is ideally located at a 40-mintue drive from the airport and a 10-minute drive from the
Exhibition
Center. Regal
Oriental is worthy of its cost. The best feature of the hotel is its
location itself. The hotel is centrally located at the downtown Kowloon in
Kowloon City
. And surrounding it are the other famous locations such as the Stanley
market, Tsimshatsui, Wong
Tai
Sin Temple
, Walled
City Park
, Chi Lin Nunnery, and a big shopping and entertainment complex. We
were thrilled to get an opportunity to visit Tsim Sha Tsui (TST) the
last day after our meetings. TST is situated at the tip of Kowloon
Peninsula. We were taken there by the famous Star Ferry that offers regular shuttle service to TST.
TST is an ideal travel place for both commercial and cultural activities. There is a stretch of commercial streets from the Harbour
City
to TST East. The famous Nathan Road is at the end of the street, and it is known as the Golden Mile. The
Nathan Road
is a dazzling street full of light, sound and smells. We enjoyed an
evening in the street, relished the tasty Indian food at one of the
restaurants. And that was not the end; we explored the long and busy
Granville and Cameron Road too. There
were a lot of cultural and archeological attractions that we missed at
TST because of lack of time. We had to be back at Regal that night. A
bit depressed and also exhausted, we took the Ferry back. It's
always better to keep something left behind, I thought, as it will
serve as an inspiration for the next trip. So, I decided to wait till I
get the next opportunity to visit HK!
