A Taipei experience

Taipei is the destination of wildlife lovers. The gorgeous national parks, with the amazing collections of birds, animals and plants, are the wonderful resources that the country is blessed with.

Taipei Taiwan is the home island for more than 22 million people and so it is one of the highly populated places of the world. The technological advancement in this land of mountains and thick forests contributed for the growth of industries such as electric and electronics, textiles, motorcycles, ship-building and metallurgy.  

I was invited for a press conference at Taipei and we were a team of media persons who got the wonderful opportunity to visit the land of friendly people and immense wild resources.

Our team from Los Angeles arrived at the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport by the Singapore Airlines. Though it was a long journey, we really enjoyed the trip. Thanks to the hospitality of the Singapore Airlines. As we landed, we were welcomed by the PR team of the company and were offered the best accommodation and all other facilities. As we were free for one day to relieve ourselves, we decided to take the opportunity to visit the National Parks here.

Thus we headed towards the famous Yangminshan National Park . It is located near the mountains adjacent to Taipei . Yangminshan National Park is an aggressive step towards the rehabilitation of the endangered flora and fauna of the country, and the government is very keen to prevent any kind of misuse of the park through the human activity. Thus we can see a clean undisturbed ecosystem that houses a large variety of animals and plants.

Conservation has been the main agenda of the Taipei government and the people. The number of national parks and wildlife sanctuaries that have been preserved under the care of nature is a typical example that proves their commitment towards the nature. Mt. Huangzuei, Lengshuikeng Stream, Meihua Pond ecological conservation zones, Datun Nature Park, Siaoyoukeng Geological Scenic Spot, Cingtiangang Grasslands Scenic Spot, and the Lengshuikeng and Longfonggu Recreation Spot, etc., are the active steps towards the united efforts of the Taipei government towards the conservation.

Yangminshan National Park is known for its unusual volcanic and topographical features. The park is also provided with a National Park Visitor Center where you can get the information about the important features of the park.

We lost ourselves in the green lush of forests, in the midst of the rare birds that I have not even heard of. An amazing sanctuary for birds- that is Yangminshan National Park. We were told by the locales about the different birds and their nature. The images of the Taiwan blue magpie and Muller's barbet are fluttering in my heart. The entire stretch of the national park was echoing with the chirping and the melodious songs of different types of birds. The colorful collage created by the wild flora and the beautiful birds is capable of melting the hardest of the hard hearts.

Though we missed the wonderful performance of the butterflies at the Butterfly Corridor, we could see some rare species of plants and animals there. The butterfly Corridor presents the magical symphony with the colorful butterflies in the Plum Rains Season in May.

Taipei , I miss you a lot. When will I be able to hear the music of the nature again?
