Everything
sells at Tokyo, the city of consumerism. The streets here are crowded
with shoppers; money is flowing in the retail streets here. It is an
amazing scene to watch the enthusiasm of the people towards the
commercial activities of the capital city of Japan. A business trip from
Los Angeles to Tokyo
. It was a long and tiresome journey. The delayed flights always added the chaos at the airport. When I landed at the Narita
Airport,
we were welcomed by the bad weather. Yet I decided to revive my spirit,
as I had to be the part of an important assignment of my company.
Being alone, it wasn't very interesting to look for an exciting trip at
Tokyo. I was taken to the hotel Park Hyatt Hotel at
Tokyo by the company and was offered all the hospitality there. I need some rest, I decided. The
Part Hyatt is about 90 minutes from the Narita airport. It is located
at Nishi-Shinjuku Shinjuku-ku. The amenities at the Park were
excellent. Everything that was required for a business traveler was
offered under one roof. The interior of the hotel is well furnished,
offering a luxurious stay. The attached restaurant and bar are adding
the convenience to travelers like us. Their 24-hour room service is
excellent. Park offers a lot of recreational services such as massage,
spa, and swimming pool and a variety of outdoor activities. I had heard of the fashion streets of
Tokyo,
and my friends had requested for a handful of fashionable stuff for
them from my trip. That is why I decided to go for an outing that day.
Our meeting was scheduled the next day, so I decided to utilize the
opportunity. I enquired at the Park reception, and they guided me to
the Harajuku. Harajuku
is overflowing with the word 'fashion'. Have you heard of Gothic
Lolita, Kogal, Ganguro, Wamono??? Don't mistake me; I am not talking
about the girls I met there. Guys, these are the different terms
associated with fashion, especially the trendy looks associated with
Japanese girls. For example, the Gothic Lolita style represents a girl
who is dressed in the Victorian 'dolls' style, with a childlike
appearance. 'Kogal' is a term related to the subculture of girls and
young women in urban Japan. They reminded me of the valley girls of
California.
It is amazing to learn the different trends and styles of the Japanese.
The fashion here is a suggestion of the artistic flair merged with the
quality lifestyle. You can easily notice the 'Decora' women in the
crowd for she is decorated with colorful clothes and accessories.
Daiso, the largest 100 Yen shop in
Tokyo,
was an amazing destination for the shoppers all over the world. I
procured many stationery and electronic items that are worth for the
grab. I
was really exhausted when I came out of the chattering young crowd that
was making the street 'explosive' with their enthusiasm for shopping.
It is the Tokyo, the business of the world.
