Singapore Dream Come True
This is my diary notes from Singapore. Hope you all find it useful if you plan a visit there.
I had been on an official trip to Singapore. I thought I should utilize the opportunity to see the colorful city of the Far East, and so I tried and managed to get a day extended from my official plan.
Day 1 Wed: We arrived at the Changi airport and were taken to the Fragrance Hotel - Crystal that is located near the heart of Singapore. It is quite easy to access all the roads that lead to the main destination of the city from the Crystal. We enjoyed the stay there. The clean and cozy environment of the hotel provided me a good sleep on that day.
Day 2 Thu: I had organized an early meeting with my client. I got rushed to the venue that was 10-minute drive from the hotel. After the lunch offered by my client at one of the famous restaurants there, I went for sight seeing with one of the team members, Seri, a Malayan girl. Seri took me to the Orchard Road, the hub of retail activities. There I saw a huge crowd preparing for their daily quota of shopping. I was surprised to know about the strange shopping habit of the Singaporeans. Shopping is part of their daily routine, as eating. The long corridors of the shopping malls added a lot of fun and thrill and I caught hold of a bagful of toys for my kids, a good collection of cosmetics for myself, and a pair of sunglasses for my husband. Developed in the late nineties, these streets were known by the popular landmarks like the C.K Tangs, Plaza Singapura and Mandarin Hotel. Now the Road is too crowded with shops and attractive glass and steel towers. After a lengthy shopping and a delicious food at a Thai restaurant, I returned to the hotel and had a nice sleep.
Day 3 Fri: I was busy the whole day with my seminar. There were long sessions of discussions and meetings. I wound up all by six in the evening. We spent the evening chatting and eating at one of the restaurants there. We tasted a unique North Indian food and enjoyed a good recipe of the seafood.
Day 4 Sat: This was the significant day for me. Seri and I had planned for a whole day tour in Singapore. With the help of a travel guide she made arrangements for both of us to visit the Singapore Botanical Garden. It was a blissful moment for me to enter into the cool orchard. Covering a vast area of flora, the botanical garden has got plenty of rubber trees and all other woods of the forest. The orchid garden is one of the most beautiful scenes of the garden. Hundreds of varieties of orchids with all colors are blooming in the entire area.
It was a cool experience stroll through the rain forests even in the sunny afternoon. We were so relaxed that we did not realize that we are approaching the sunset and that we are still in the middle of our trip. We made hurry then onwards, went for boating there in the evening. There were good restaurants too to put out our hunger.
Day 5 Sun: With all memories and a bagful of packets, I checked out early in the morning.
